Manaya

Manaya is a wonderful wool mix that is nice and warm. The large soft skeins with the finest mottles are in themselves so nice that you almost hardly have the heart to use them.

But when you first get a needle or hook in Manaya, it’s hard to put it down again. As with many color-changing yarns, it’s exciting to follow the colors. Knitted or crocheted, the shades merge into each other in beautiful stripes.

Fine South American wool has been used, so Manaya is delightful to use for scarves, hats, ponchos, or other cuddly accessories for example.

Manaya is a single-ply yarn, which means it’s not spun from several strands. The rustic structure is reminiscent of handspun yarn with natural variation in strand thickness. With a single ply yarn, you get a nice softness and incredible colors. It also means that the yarn may feel loose and not as strong as other yarns. However, that feeling disappears completely once it’s worked up, and it will be just as resistant to wear and tear as other plied yarns.

The yarn is OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100 certified (no. 2276-367). Find more information about the certification at https://www.oeko-tex.com/en/
